Elections & Polling

The GMA team possesses extensive experience at election monitoring, both as members of international teams including the African Union and Commonwealth, but also through the hosting of bespoke missions including those to Somaliland, Liberia, Lesotho and Kenya. The team can provide:

  • Mediation efforts and advocacy.

  • Legal defence – in support of detained activists and leaders.

  • Outreach – to African and other external governments with deep knowledge of inner workings to leverage influence.

  • Election monitoring – support with PVT, countering fraud, enhancing security measures; messaging in press to set the narrative, civil society and church partnerships, leveraging power of social media).

  • Policy advice – through experience on party policy formulation and reform; shadow governments etc.

Polling as a means of ascertaining levels of political support is not usually a stand-alone single engagement, but part of a wider process of creating options for leadership which are informed by empirical results rather than gut sentiment.
